2026 ASEAN Coating Innovation and Technology Development Conference

JAKARTA — The 2026 ASEAN Coating Innovation and Technology Development Conference, organized by Ringier Events, brought together key industry leaders, manufacturers, and experts to explore emerging trends, market opportunities, and technological advancements shaping the regional coatings sector. This event is held in Luwansa Hotel – Jakarta, on Tuesday 18 August 2026.

With Indonesia serving as the hub for Southeast Asia’s coatings market, the conference highlighted strong growth driven by demand across automotive, infrastructure, construction, and consumer goods manufacturing.

Key Market Drivers & Growth Outlook

During the keynote address, Dr R Pujoyono, representatives from the Association of Paint Manufacturers of Indonesia (APCI) outlined the strategic outlook for decorative and industrial coatings in Southeast Asia:

Market Expansion: The ASEAN paint and coatings market is projected to expand significantly from $7.7 billion to $9.92 billion within five years, with total regional market value expected to reach approximately $10 billion.

• Regional Leaders: Indonesia stands as the primary growth engine for volume, contributing an estimated 150 million tons per year, supported by a population of over 280 million people.

Per Capita Consumption: While Singapore currently records the highest per capita paint consumption in the region, emerging markets like Vietnam and the Philippines offer significant growth opportunities for new investments.

Industrial Footprint: Indonesia currently hosts around 150 paint manufacturers, with 97% concentrated on the island of Java, signaling major potential for regional expansion outside Java.

Key Sessions and Topics

The conference agenda covered critical technological and regulatory developments across decorative, protective, and industrial coatings:

Sustainability & Reformulation: Discussions centered on lead-free paint reformulation (Lead Exposure Elimination Project – LEEP) and green chemistry practices.

High-Performance Coatings: Presentation of advanced thermal spray coating techniques, high-performance wax additives (Nanjing Tianshi), and fireproofing solutions (Carboline/Nullifire).

Corrosion & Surface Protection: Insights into long-term corrosion prevention (PT Nuscaco Anti Korosi Indonesia) and hot dip galvanizing processes and inspection standards (Asosiasi Galvanis Indonesia).

Digital Trust & Standards: Updates on ISO 2026 compliance, quality assurance, and digital trust implementation within Indonesia’s coatings industry (Indonesia ISO Expert Association & ISQ).

This Seminar is attended by the coating practioners, and participants from Coating Companies. The event Agenda are consisting presentation by speakers from some Companies, as follow:
